The Churchills and the Kennedys

9780307956798

This is a must read for a wonderful look into the lives of great people!

The first comprehensive history of the deeply entwined personal and public lives of the Churchills and the Kennedys and what their “special relationship” meant for Great Britain and the United States

I read it over the Christmas  holidays and will read again since I loved this very fat book full of pictures. Well written and researched. This book with over 700 pages is not only full of history but very entertaining.

“When Lions Roar” is the dual biography of two families intertwined by business and politics, rivalry and cooperation, veniality and idealism. The Churchills were English to the core, though with an American pedigree, and defenders of the Empire. The Kennedys were brash Irish Catholics with chips on their shoulders striving to break into the world that was a part of the Churchills’ birthright.

A very fascinating read!
