The Crimson Cord

A very compelling story that I had to read all in one sitting as I could not put it down.  The author did a good job linking Rahab's story with the line of Israel, after all she is in the lien of  Christ.

Yet there were times when I wondered if the author played too much with the few verses about this young women, which are mentioned in the Bible. Is it right to  fabricate a story on so little? All that we know about Rahab from scripture can be drawn from chapters 2 & 6 in the book of Joshua, Hebrews 11:31, and from the lineage of Christ listed in Matthew 1:5.  Also at times I wonder if Joshua was portrayed as he should be .
Now comes my personal opinion of the book. To be honest, I did not think it spectacular. The story was weak. I couldn't sympathize with the heroine. It went on and on and then jsut ended. I knew what was to happen long before it did.Let me say, this author had a brilliant idea when it came to this series' story line. I guess the book should have been shorter.I hated the fact that marriage was not held sacred.  Yet I was pleased how it showed forgiveness and god's grace.

where Rivers part

Where Rivers Part (Texas Gold, #2)

I am thankful for the review copy of a book .  One thing I really liked was the main characters salvation story. Very good story and hard to put down!  This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review.  I went for this book even though I am very icty about  fictional book sand could not put the book down! I read it in one afternoon and upon closing the book, wept. I cried because of God's grace. Most of all I marveled at the healing, at God's mercy. Indeed, His mercies are new every morning!  This showed me I can forgive others.
I wont give the story away because on good reads and amazon you can find out more about this book.
This is by all means not my favorite topic of book,. Mankind is not sinless.  I appreciated how the book made the point that everyone  was not entirely without fault.
. See what God can do in people's lives....read this book

The Trouble with Patience: A Novel

I thought this would be a great read but I found myself loosing interest s the story progressed. The charters might be in the old west but their language jsut dd not fit. I love the old west but there was something not quite right about this read.

The author had some really good facts and lessons about God to write about but just threw them into a story. Nothing stunning about this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.
Thanks

The Babylon Contingency

I found trouble with the flow of sentences. Would have been a good story but there were some questionable characters that seems to to be a miss fit. The book flows with a lot of action with historical background thrown in to help move the plot and to give it the name historical mystery.  Don't be tricked into thinking this is a christen novel since  a christen publisher published ( Not everything in the Christen book store is worth reading). This is not a Christian novel from what i got out of t which really saddened me. I was looking for good  mysteries to recommenced to other Christens. It’s  exactly anti-Christian for Peele, a main charterer  is an agnostic-leaning atheist, who doesn't look favorably on any form of religion.  content. I was shocked by some of the content and went to look up more about the author. This is not a book I would recommend.

For unbelievers I would say they will be frustrated too because the story goes no where and is very hard to follow.

What drew me was the cover.

A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The opinions expressed are my own.

Christ changes the World!

This was a good read but I had trouble with some references the author made to movies I did not like such as the hunger games and Harry Potter. Also that  a lot of this book was the Bible being retold in Mikes words.

Yet in this short read we can see his love for Christ shinning out. I enjoyed this book  for the most part It brings  a sense of peace and life in Christ the living Lord.

My favorite quote was " The darkness of midnight does not mean that dawn is never coming.

The Resurrection in Your Life is based on 10 sermons that the author had preached.

1) He is Not Here (Lk 23:54-24:12)
2) Was it Not Necessary? (Lk 24:13-35)
3) The Peace of Certainty (Lk 24:36-49)
4) The Parting (Lk 24:50-53)
5) Leaving to Return (Ac 1:1-11)
6) A New Witness (Ac 1:12-26)
7) Like Tongues of Fire (Ac 2:1-13)
8) The Clock is Ticking (Ac 2:14-21)
9) Because Death Could Not Hold Him (Ac 2:22-41)

The author does a good job reminding us that  we have a living Lord. A pleasant read.
