Those Who Have Ears, Let Them Hear

This book I know I had to read since the back ( pictured below) made  me think of  Jordan Rubin and his book Makers Diet.

He had the same sickness as Dr J. Michaels- picture of  Jordan below Image result for jordan rubin.

I wanted to see what this author had to say. A lot of what the author states on thee heath side was right on track with what I believe and I would know since I  read every heath book I can lay my hands on!  Yet again, I am blessed to read and review a wonderful book on suffering and triumph through faith in Jesus!  I highly recommend this book for those who are going through suffering, have experienced it in the past and who, like me have never gone through anything major as the author but I do have  a high mold allergy.  I fought this for years with out knowing what it was.

When all seems lost, where can hope be found?  The author shows us that their is natural way  to be  well but in the end he points all the glory to God. How can my words describe the beauty and value of this book? From the first chapter, I knew this book would be a favorite of mine. As I read, my first impression was not unfounded. This book really, really touched my heart. I sensed the great peace and joy that this family had, which can only come from a relationship with Jesus Christ!Whether God has already given you strength to make it through a hard time, or you have no idea how you're going to get through another day, you need to read this book.

This book is  not all about heath but focuses a lot on the  spiritual side of life- all part of the healing. Do not miss this beautiful and God-glorifying book.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

A bride with Style Novel

Please take  a moment to visit the authors web sight! http://janiceathompson.com/

She writes a lot of different books such as Brides with style. I get to review her book number 3 in this series. In fact I was sent an early copy.  This one will be on sale Tuesday May 17th. This is a typical story of how an engaged women is trying to set up her wedding but  has all that great help ( necessary input).   I thought it was a fun read   It shows  how sometime  others  don't let you have impute but also how  others can have some good ideas if we  stop and listen. Side  note I would say to fully understand this book and not get lost with who the characters are, you would need to read the other two books which I will and must do some day soon!

My toddler Bible

This book has already become a favorite Sunday read for a little   beautiful curly bond three year old and her handsome 1 year old brother.  It is so cute to see them head of to church  taking turns to bring the special book with them.  lots of bright pages to engage  your children.   This wonderful collection of short Bible stories is a great way to begin teaching the scriptures.  When I first  gave this book to the children, the 3 year  took it to bed with her and ran to get the following day for church! Beautiful pictures and well-written for toddlers, preschool and kindergarten little ones..

Thanks Kregel for the book to review.

Playing the part

Playing the Part by Jen Turano

Surprisingly  this was a good read despite it being a romance. I liked the gentlemen in this story better than the ladies. I found the plot was very interesting.   Who wrote the  plays that Lucetta acts and why is the basement  of the house she is visiting set up as a death chamber? Are all men out to get her.  Would it be better for her to return to life on the stage?  There she could be a star but her step father is  problem.

Find out if her fans will ruin her life or she will rise above them.  Very well written .  Jen has done yet  another fabulous job on her books.

Thank you Bethany house for this book to review.

The Crimson Cord

A very compelling story that I had to read all in one sitting as I could not put it down.  The author did a good job linking Rahab's story with the line of Israel, after all she is in the lien of  Christ.

Yet there were times when I wondered if the author played too much with the few verses about this young women, which are mentioned in the Bible. Is it right to  fabricate a story on so little? All that we know about Rahab from scripture can be drawn from chapters 2 & 6 in the book of Joshua, Hebrews 11:31, and from the lineage of Christ listed in Matthew 1:5.  Also at times I wonder if Joshua was portrayed as he should be .
Now comes my personal opinion of the book. To be honest, I did not think it spectacular. The story was weak. I couldn't sympathize with the heroine. It went on and on and then jsut ended. I knew what was to happen long before it did.Let me say, this author had a brilliant idea when it came to this series' story line. I guess the book should have been shorter.I hated the fact that marriage was not held sacred.  Yet I was pleased how it showed forgiveness and god's grace.

NOTE : I received a copy of the Crimson Cord in exchange for an honest review from Revell Publishers.

Reading Matters! !

I thought I would share what I wrote!“Dig”. Poster by Sadie Wendell Mitchell showing a woman sitting in a room filled with books reading a work titled Economy. A sign with text “Do It Now” hangs on the wall above the woman’s head. Part of the artist’s “Girls Will Be Girls” poster series.

Readers are leaders and leaders are readers. It is true that the great successful leaders read  but they did not just read any thing. They took into consideration  what they were reading.  Our founding fathers read the Bible and Pilgrim Progress! High quality literature is thought-provoking as well as entertaining. It inspires greatness and character development, and doesn't shy away from dealing with difficult topics.  The literature we delve into should teach us things! What are your children ( or we) getting out of the book? What are the  lessons.  Is it full of good language? Books were one of the first means of communication before radio, computers and TV! Yet should we read any book we find?Women Reading - thomerama: Harrison Fisher
So you see it is not always a good thing to be reading because it is like eating. We do not consume junk food on a regular basses so neither should "fun" books be read to often.
Teach your kids it is good to always have a book with you where ever you go. I think having a variety of books to read helps stretch the mind as children seem to gravitate towards fiction.  Have a basket or bag for them and provide a history, science, Biblical book, one from anLady Emily reading “The Lady of Shalott” in her outfit inspired by Anne of Green Gables.  I believe that reading  biographies inspires your children, siblings and your self to look at lives that made an impact in the world. Then you will be drawn to imitating them.  This is especially true of great Christians. In these stories you are inspired to be like Christ. High quality literature is thought-provoking as well as entertaining. It inspires greatness and character development, and doesn't shy away from dealing with difficult topics.
